SBI PO Eligibility

The first and important eligibility for this post is the educational eligibility. Further, a candidate must have a graduate degree in any stream. The degree must be achieved on or before 31/12/2020 from any recognized University of India.

Moreover, the candidates who are studying in the final year can also apply. But, they have to produce a degree at the time of the Interview. The date of the passing of Graduation degree must on or before 31/12/2020.

Age Limit

  • Similarly, the maximum age for the same is 30 years.

Important Dates for SBI PO 2020

  • Initially, the application starting date is 14/11/2020.
  • The last date for applying online is 04/12/2020.
  • Similarly, the last date for paying the examination fee is also 04/12/2020.
  • The date of the pre-examination is from 31/12/2020 to 05/01/2021.
  • Therefore, the date of the mains examination is 29/01/2020.
  • However, the Admit cards for the same will release well in advance.

Examination Fee

  • The examination fee for UR, OBC and EWS is Rs. 750.00.
  • However, there is no examination fee for SC/ST and PH category.
  • Moreover, the examination fee must be pay through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.


  • There are 2000 vacancies for SBI PO 2020. Category-wise break-down is also given below.
  • General- 810, EWS- 200, OBC- 540, SC- 300 and ST-150.

SBI PO Exam Pattern

  • Firstly, the exam pattern of the SBI PO consists of three phases.
  • Phase I, The phase I exam is also called preliminary exam. Further, there are total 100 questions of English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. English Language 30 question and 35 questions for each remaining subject.
  • Further, this is an objective test and also has a separate time for each subject. It is to clarify that there is no sectional cut-off. Time duration for the same is 01 hour. In other words, 20 minutes for each section. This is the examination to qualify for the Phase II examination. Approx 10 time candidates will shortlist for the phase II exam as per the vacancy.
  • Phase II, there are two exams the first one is an objective test and the second one is a descriptive test. Further, details of the subjects, marks and timing are mentioned as below.

  • Moreover, there is no sectional cut-off but the time is separate for each section. Candidates have to practice more on the same pattern to a good score.
  • Descriptive Test, there is a 50 marks descriptive test that consists of an essay and an application. Time duration for this test is only 30 minutes.
Merit for Phase III
  • The merit for the phase III will only be prepared on the marks of phase II (objective and Descriptive). Generally, three times of the candidates will shortlist for the test of phase III. Therefore, a category-wise merit list will prepare according to the vacancies.
  • Phase III, there is an Interview for 50 marks. Further, it may also convert as the Interview for 30 marks and group exercise for 20 marks.
  • The final selection is fully based on the score in Phase II & III. There is 75% wattage of phase II marks and 25% of phase III marks. The marks of phase I will not be added in the final merit.
  • Negative Marking, the 1/4th marks will deduct for each incorrect answer. Candidates can reduce it while practising on mock tests.
